WELCOME TO THE 2019 SEASON!

There are 328 Volunteer Spots to fill for home soccer games. We are an all volunteer organization and we look forward to working with you towards an excellent season. We need your help to fill these slots. The "fair share" parent support is 4 slots (sisters and brothers can help too with ball handling earning community service hours or $5 per game) Scroll to the bottom of this page for the volunteer job descriptions.

Ball Handlers

Ball Handlers

Ball Handlers

AHSAA regulations state that games cannot be played without ball handlers. For this reason, all games have must have 2 ball handlers. This is a great volunteer opportunity for siblings of players or youth needing volunteer hours. HHS Panther Soccer will pay each ball handler $5 per game OR 1 hour of community service .

Two ball handlers per game. Sign in at the volunteer check in table and get a  pinnie to wear.  Check in with the referee for your game. Get a soccer ball from the HHS coach to use while you're ball handling. This ball will be given to the ref when needed. Retrieve balls that have gone out of bounds. Return pinnie to the volunteer check in table after your game.  Ball handlers will be paid at the concession stand after their game is finished. If ball handler chooses community service hours instead, please have the person at the volunteer check in table sign your volunteer sheet after your game. Please make sure you arrive on time for your shift. We cannot start the game until you arrive.

SHIFT 1 - 4:45pm - 6:30pm

SHIFT 2 - 6:45pm - 8:30pm

A Few Notes -

Make sure you coordinate your volunteer time with your player's game time. Example - If you're working  ticket sales and your player is playing at Boyd Field, you will be able to see the game while you work! If your player is playing at Panther Field while you're doing ticket sales, you  won't be able to see their game.
Shift times were not necessarily designated to fit exactly with the players' game times; they are based on times volunteers are needed. Please be on time as we are counting on you.

Thank you for being an important part of the 2018 HHS Panther Soccer season. We appreciate you!

Concession Stand

Concession Stand

Concession stand

4:30pm - 6:30pm Opening/First Shift (2 volunteers) -  Volunteers need to set up the food to be displayed, fill coolers with ice and refill with drinks.  Volunteers also need to retrieve candy from the refrigerator in the storage room to display and sell.

6:30pm - 8:30pm Closing/Second Shift (2 volunteers) - Volunteers need to empty the ice from the coolers and pack away the food (including the candy that goes back in the refrigerator in the storage room). Make sure the concession stand is clean, tidy and the money is given to either Sonia Pruitt (concession stand coordinator) or Brian Foy (treasurer). Sonia will be there at the beginning of most games to help open the concession stand or she’ll have someone in her place. Sonia also has more instructions in the concession stand for volunteers to reference as well.

Game Announcers

Game Announcers

Game Announcers
Game Announcers are responsbile for getting the starting line up from both coaches, announcing the starting lineup, and subs throughout the game.  There will be a detailed script that lists step by step instruction on when to welcome the players and fans, the playing of the national anthem, announcing the starters for each team, and advertisments from our sponsors. Its a good idea as you arrive to stop by the snack bar and see if they have any specials they are running so you can announce that as well.  Everything you say is already written for you in included in a script. It may sound overwhelmening and if you are not a fan of public speaking, the job may sound unimaginable.  We assure you, that the first time you do it may be a little nervewracking but you will soon find out that it really isnt bad at all and there is not a better place to watch the game.

We need one game announcer for each home game. The sound system will be included with the scoreboard and they are ususally set up at the same time.  There will be a step by step manual on how to setup the clock and mic system.
2 shifts - 430pm - 6:30pm and 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Scoreboard

Scoreboard

Scoreboard

4:30pm - 6:30pm (1 volunteer) - Locate the score board and the directions binder in the storage building by the ticket table and get the system set up prior to kickoff. The binder is very important as it has directions for running the scoreboard. The scoreboard volunteer position involves keeping the time and the score.

6:30pm - 8:30pm (1 volunteer) - After your game, unplug the scoreboard and return it and the binder to the storage building by the ticket table.

The person running the scoreboard needs to act like an unbiased observer.

Ticket Sales / Gate Duty

Ticket Sales / Gate Duty

Gate Duty Ticket Sales
Main Duties - Selling tickets and tracking those who do not have to pay. Every person who pays must receive a ticket per Huntsville City Schools' policy.

Adult tickets are $6 and student tickets are $4.

Brian Foy, HHS Panther Soccer  Treasurer, will provide a money box, tickets (separate colors for adult vs student), envelopes to collect ticket stubs, and the sign-in sheet for all Huntsville City Schools employees to sign as they get in free (they must have their name badge to show proof - if they don't, they have to pay).

Huntsville High School students and elementary and middle school feeder school students get in free also. Students from the opposing school or any other school pay $4.

HHS Panther Season ticket holders must have their season pass or be listed on the season pass sheet to be admitted for free; otherwise, they have to pay for a single game ticket. Each team’s coach, teacher representative, and trainer get in free. They should have credentials to show you upon entrance and will sign the same sheet as Huntsville City School employees.

4:30pm - 6:30pm shift (2 volunteers) - It is important to get to the ticket table before or right at 4:30pm as we want to make sure all people watching the game pay an entry fee. Brian Foy will bring you a money box, adult and student tickets and sign in sheets for HCS employees.
6:30pm - 8:30pm shift (2 volunteers)- Since this is the closing shift, you will gather all materials and return to Brian Foy after the last game. He will come collect them from you before your shift if over..

Videographer

Videographer

Videographer

We need one videographer for each home game. The camera and tripod are stored in the storage room near the ticket sales table. You simply videotape the game. This position is very important as our coaches use the game videos to coach our players and players can use clips of their goals or important plays and upload them to their Hudl accounts.
